Peace be upon you, abode of a believing people. What you were promised has come to you; tomorrow you are deferred, and we shall, Allah willing, follow you. O Allah, forgive the people of Baqiʿ al-Gharqad.
Prophetic ﷺ practices to revive here — a simple checklist for when you're standing in the place itself.
"Peace be upon you, abode of a believing people; what you were promised has come to you; tomorrow you are deferred, and we shall, Allah willing, follow you. O Allah, forgive the people of Baqiʿ" (Muslim).
The visit is for remembering the Hereafter, not for wailing or touching graves. The early generations would enter, greet, and supplicate.
🎒 What to bring
A gentle reminder — Islamic adab at these places.
Do not touch or kiss the graves. This has no place in Islam.
Photography is strictly forbidden inside Baqiʿ. Please comply.
Greet with the Prophetic ﷺ supplication; pray for their mercy; remember yourself in the supplication.
Women do not enter Baqiʿ. This is a settled ruling.
Soon you'll be able to share your photos from Al-Baqi‘ Cemetery so future visitors can see them — every photo reviewed by scholars before publication (to keep the space respectful).
