The Ṣadaqa of Abū Ṭalḥa ﭬ

A feature within · Bayraḥā Well

Significance

"Bayruḥāʾ" was the orchard of Abū Ṭalḥa al-Anṣārī ﭬ, the most beloved of his properties, facing the Mosque; the Prophet ﷺ used to enter it and drink from its sweet water. When {You will not attain righteousness until you spend of what you love} [Āl ʿImrān: 92] was revealed, Abū Ṭalḥa rose to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "The most beloved of my wealth to me is Bayruḥāʾ; it is a charity for Allah." He ﷺ said: "Bakhkhin! That is profitable wealth, that is profitable wealth."
