ʿĀʾisha's ﭯ Necklace

Significance

Al-Bukhārī narrated from ʿĀʾisha ﭯ: 'We set out with the Prophet ﷺ on one of his journeys, until when we were at al-Baydāʾ — or at Dhāt al-Jaysh — a necklace of mine was lost. The Prophet ﷺ halted to search for it, and the people halted with him, though they were not at water and had none with them.' The people complained to her father Abū Bakr ﭬ, who reproached her. Then Allah revealed the verse of tayammum. Usayd ibn Ḥuḍayr ﭬ said: 'This is not the first blessing of yours, O family of Abū Bakr.'
