The Revelation of the Verse of Tayammum

Significance

At Dhāt al-Jaysh Allah revealed: {And if you are ill or on a journey, or one of you comes from the toilet, or you have contacted women — and you do not find water, then perform tayammum with clean earth, wiping your faces and hands with it} [al-Māʾida: 6]. This was the first legislation of tayammum in Islam, a mercy on the Umma. When morning came and prayer was called they made tayammum and prayed; then when the Prophet ﷺ raised the camel ʿĀʾisha had been riding, the necklace was found beneath it.
