Al-Qamūṣ Fortress

Significance

Among the mightiest and most fortified of Khaybar's forts, the stronghold of Ibn Abī al-Ḥuqayq. ʿAli ﭬ opened it carrying the standard after his eyes had been healed by the Prophet's ﷺ saliva. Here ʿAli killed Marḥab of Khaybar, who used to come out fully armored, chanting.
