The Standard of Tomorrow

Significance

The Prophet ﷺ said on the eve of Khaybar: 'Tomorrow I shall give this standard to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and whom Allah and His Messenger love. Allah will grant victory at his hands.' The people spent the night wondering to whom it would go. In the morning he asked for ʿAli ﭬ, who was brought suffering from eye pain. The Prophet ﷺ put his saliva in his eyes and he was healed instantly, then received the standard.
