The Place of Sitting

A feature within · Masjid Banū Ẓafar

Significance

The Prophet ﷺ used to sit in this mosque, receive delegations, and adjudicate between people here. The site lies east of Madīna near Masjid al-Faḍīkh, in the quarter of Banū Ẓafar of the Anṣār. It is known today as "Masjid al-Baghla" (Mosque of the She-Mule) because the Prophet's ﷺ mule was said to have pressed its hoof into it and left a mark — a report cited by some historians without a sound chain, and treated cautiously.
