The Position of the Fifty Archers

Significance

A small hill south of Mount Uḥud; on the day of Uḥud the Prophet ﷺ ordered fifty archers to stand upon it and placed ʿAbd Allāh ibn Jubayr ﭬ over them. The hill protected the army's rear and blocked the polytheists' cavalry from encircling. It still stands today within the Uḥud grounds, visited by pilgrims.
