﴿الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ﴾«فَبَايَعْتُهُ، وَبَايَعَهُ النَّاسُ، وَسَكَتَ ذُو الْقُرْبَى.»After the Prophet's ﷺ passing, the Ansar gathered at Saqīfat Banu Sāʿida. Abu Bakr, ʿUmar, and Abu ʿUbayda ﭬ joined them. After consultation, the pledge was given to Abu Bakr al-Ṣiddīq as caliph — ʿUmar said: "So I rose and pledged to him, and the people pledged."
