The Meeting-Place for Sending Off the Armies

Significance

From this pass, the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions used to escort the war-parties setting out for Muʾta, Tabūk, and other campaigns. Here the army of Usāma ibn Zayd ﭬ was seen off just days after his death ﷺ. It is called "al-Wadāʿ" (the Farewell) because it was the place of sending off those departing and receiving those returning.
