Estates of the Companions and Followers

Significance

Wādī al-ʿAqīq gathered the estates of the great Companions and Followers and the notables of Quraysh for its fertility and sweet water. Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ ﭬ had a palace and farm there, as did the families of al-Zubayr and ʿUmar. Poets used to remember al-ʿAqīq and long for it. Visitors today notice remains of old palaces and wells along its edges.
