Dhū al-Ḥulayfa — the Miqat of Madīna
A feature within · Wādī al-ʿAqīq
Significance
Among the tributaries of Wādī al-ʿAqīq is Dhū al-Ḥulayfa, the mīqāt appointed by the Prophet ﷺ for the people of Madīna in the ḥadīth: "He appointed Dhū al-Ḥulayfa for the people of Madīna, al-Juḥfa for al-Shām, Qarn al-Manāzil for Najd, and Yalamlam for Yemen." Dhū al-Ḥulayfa is the farthest of the mīqāts from Makka — about 450 km — because the Prophet ﷺ used to leave from it. It is known today as "Abyār ʿAli."
