The Prophet's ﷺ Ring

Significance

The Prophet's ﷺ ring was of silver, engraved in three lines: 'Muḥammad Messenger of Allah.' It was worn after him by Abū Bakr, then ʿUmar, then ʿUthmān ﭺ. It fell from ʿUthmān ﭬ into the well of Arīs six years into his caliphate; they drained the well and could not find it. The historians counted the loss of the ring among the trials heralded before ʿUthmān's assassination.
