The Sitting of the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions

Significance

Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī ﭬ narrated that the Prophet ﷺ sat on the well's parapet and dangled his legs in it, then Abū Bakr, ʿUmar, and ʿUthmān ﭺ sought permission to enter one after another — he gave each glad tidings of Paradise, and told ʿUthmān of a trial to befall him. This is the very spot where they sought his permission. The well lies in the direction of Qubāʾ.
