The First Jumuʿa Prayer in Islam

Significance

When the Prophet ﷺ left Qubāʾ heading for Madīna on a Friday, the time of Jumuʿa reached him in the valley of Rānūnāʾ in the quarter of Banū Sālim ibn ʿAwf, and he prayed it there — the spot on which the Mosque of Jumuʿa was later built. It was the first Jumuʿa prayer he ﷺ led with his Companions in Islam, and the first Jumuʿa sermon delivered in Madīna.
