The First Khuṭba in Madīna

Significance

At this place the Prophet ﷺ delivered the first Jumuʿa sermon in the history of Madīna. The sources record its content: exhortation to taqwā, prayer and ṣadaqa, and praise of Allah. The site today is in Wādī Rānūnāʾ, some two kilometres south of Qubāʾ; the present mosque is the modern Saudi expansion.
