The First Mihrab — Toward Jerusalem

Significance

The northern mihrab where the Prophet ﷺ and the Muslims prayed for seventeen months after the Hijra, facing al-Masjid al-Aqṣā. He ﷺ loved that the qibla be turned toward the Kaʿba, and he turned his face toward the heavens awaiting Allah's command.
