Significance
The first endowment in Islam. The well continued to irrigate the endowed date-palm farm for many centuries. In modern times the endowment expanded around it, and there is now a farm called "ʿUthmān's Farm" producing dates whose income returns to the poor and needy. Muslims visit it, remembering ʿUthmān's ﭬ precedence in good.
The recommended practice
Take a lesson from the Companions' ﭺ precedence in good works — it is not from the Sunna to sanctify or seek blessing by touching the well itself.
