1. Deployment — Saturday morning, 7 Shawwal 3 AH
The Prophet ﷺ stationed his 700 men in front of Uhud, the mountain at their back. He placed 50 archers on Mount ʿAynayn (Archers' Hill) south of the field under ʿAbdullah ibn Jubayr, with an absolute order: "Do not leave your position. If you see birds snatching us, do not leave. If you see us routing the enemy, do not leave until I send for you."
